How Twitch Earnings Work
Twitch monetization is a mix of recurring revenue (Subscriptions) and usage-based revenue (Ads & Bits).
Revenue Streams
- Subscriptions: The core income for most streamers. A standard Tier 1 sub costs $4.99, and affiliates/partners typically get 50% ($2.50).
- Ads: Streamers earn revenue for running ad breaks. Rates vary by season and location, but generally range from $3.50 to $5.00 CPM (Cost Per Mille).
- Bits & Donations: Direct support from viewers. 1 Bit = $0.01 for the streamer.
Affiliate vs. Partner
While both Affiliates and Partners earn from subs and bits, Partners often unlock better ad revenue splits, higher emote limits, and sometimes better subscription splits (e.g., 70/30) if they are top-tier creators.
